What is Cloud Computing ?

What is Cloud Computing ? Let us plan a party first...

I decide to invite my friends and have fun with tasty pani-puri.But I don't how cook and prepare pani-puri. I hire local tapri wala(Ganu Bhau) to help me in my work.
So I invite all my friends round the next day for party. But Ganu Bhau can’t make 100 pani-puri for my 100 friends, he’s got too busy! He makes only 20 pani-puri. 80 of my friends go hungry! That upsets me!
So I hire 4 more along with Ganu Bhau to overcome this problem and make sure that everyone would get a pani-puri. However, that day, half my friends can’t come round, so 50 of those pani-puri go waste. Though it was total waste i still had to pay for them.So I am wasting my money. My four other friends Rahul, Vikas, Apurva and Gagan are also having pani-puri parties, and they are all having the same problem.
Sometimes they have more pani-puri than guests, wasting money, and sometimes they have more guests than pani-puri, so people are going hungry. Nobody can guess the exact number of pani-puri because nobody knows exactly how many friends they are going to have round that day. Also, everybody has to build huge pani-puri stands, taking up room in their house they could use for other things. And to be honest, it’s a hassle having all the making ingredients in your house. You don’t really care about where pani-puri are made, you just want to eat them.
An idea  comes in  my business mindset and I build a massive kitchen.I hire Ganu bhau and 199 experts in making pani-puri. I open for taking orders and provide supply as per demand. All the people in my city get rid of their own pani-puri making hassle, and instead pay me to do pani-puri deliveries for them. Some days they have 20 guests, so they use 1 of my experts as each can prepare only 20 pani-puri at a time.Other people have only 40 guests and hence 2 experts. Another day they might have only 1000 guests and hence use my 50 experts. They each only pay for the number of experts they use each night, even though that changes unpredictably. And also they don’t have to use half their house. They don’t even need to know or care how many experts are employed in my massive kitchen. If someone needs more experts they are only one call away.
This way they all get value for money and I get my business.  This arrangement of building a massive kitchen and flawless deliver of pani-puri is what Cloud Computing is all about.

Cloud computing is like - instead of growing your own mango tree to get fruits, you go to the person who has mango tree and buy only mangos. Cloud is the Internet. It can be server, a software or any resource on the internet which can be hired. For example, instead of setting up your own mail server to send and receive mails, you sign up with an e-mail provider (gmail) who has all the set up ready.

I hope that helps.Further let your imagination flow.
